Lead Nurse for Complex Children's Care

At a leading children's hospice in North London, we are seeking a dedicated Senior Children's Nurse to join our team and provide exceptional care to children and their families. Job DescriptionAs a Senior Children's Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the hospice, children's homes, or community settings. You will plan and review care in collaboration with families to ensure safety and advocacy, and ensure fun, sensitivity, and compassion are integral to the care provided. You will also administer medications and maintain the nutritional status of all children, participate in governance activities, and offer training and development opportunities to staff and family members.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct line management support to Band 5 Nurses and Band 3 + 4 Specialist Carers.
- Deliver high-quality patient care in the hospice, children's homes, or community settings.
- Plan and review care in collaboration with families to ensure safety and advocacy.
- Ensure fun, sensitivity, and compassion are integral to the care provided.
- Administer medications and maintain the nutritional status of all children.
- Participate in governance activities, including incident reporting and resource management.
- Offer training and development opportunities to staff and family members.
We are looking for a qualified Senior Children's Nurse with registration as a Sick Children's Nurse or Registered Nurse (Child Branch), relevant post-qualification experience at Band 5 level, and experience in nursing children with life-limiting conditions. You will need excellent clinical, communication, and mentoring skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A positive attitude, flexibility, and a commitment to our values of kindness, excellence, and courage are essential.
Qualifications and Experience
