Nursing Children's Health Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Paediatric Nurse to join our team at a leading children's hospice in North London. As a Senior Children's Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and lead a team of nurses in delivering exceptional care to children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct line management support to Band 5 Nurses and Band 3 + 4 Specialist Carers
- Deliver high-quality patient care in the hospice, children's homes, or community settings
- Plan and review care in collaboration with families to ensure safety and advocacy
- Ensure fun, sensitivity, and compassion are integral to the care provided
- Administer medications and maintain the nutritional status of all children
- Participate in governance activities, including incident reporting and resource management
- Offer training and development opportunities to staff and family members
Requirements
- Registration as a Sick Children's Nurse or Registered Nurse (Child Branch)
- Relevant post-qualification experience at Band 5 level
- Experience in nursing children with life-limiting conditions
- Excellent clinical, communication, and mentoring skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A positive attitude, flexibility, and a commitment to the hospice's values of kindness, excellence, and courage
What We Offer
- Annual salary of up to £49,976, based on experience
- A joining bonus of £5,000 over three years
- 25 days of annual leave, increasing with service, plus the option to buy or sell leave
- Pension contributions up to 6% from the employer, with NHS pension options for nursing staff
