Job Title: Children's Diabetes Specialist Practitioner

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Registered Children's Nurse to join our team as a Children's Diabetes Specialist Practitioner. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who wants to make a difference in the lives of children and young people with diabetes.

About the Role:

This role is focused on providing high-quality care to children and young people with diabetes, working closely with our multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in various settings, including inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and the community.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess the care needs of children and young people with diabetes and develop individualized care plans.
  • Implement and evaluate programs of nursing care, ensuring that care plans provide a continuous record of progress, response to treatment, rehabilitation, and nursing care.
  • Manage a defined caseload of diabetic patients within the inpatient/outpatient setting under the supervision of the Band 7 Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialists.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other healthcare professionals to support and encourage involvement in care, promoting family-centred care and independence.
  • Maintain optimum standards of nursing care, ensuring adherence to guidelines and policies within the inpatient/outpatient setting.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Nursing or related field (Essential)
  • At least five years' experience in paediatric nursing (Essential)
  • Minimum two years' experience working with children with diabetes in acute or community settings (Essential)

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
