Unlock Your Potential as a Social Worker with Essex County Council
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative and TEC award-winning team in Adult Social Care, working alongside adults with complex needs. As a qualified social worker, you will play a vital role in building independence through positive approaches to risk and strengths-based models.
You will work closely with adults in supported living accommodation and residential care to undertake Care Act reviews, focusing on developing independence and progression. This involves close partnership working with internal and external partners, including health services and the Court of Protection.
Our team is passionate about person-centred practice and balances this with delivering effective supported living whole-scheme reviews. We are champions for technology-enabled care (TEC) and have a proven track record of improving adults' independence through TEC.
This role sits within our Countywide service, supporting adults living across Essex and out-of-county areas. You will be community and home-based, with flexibility to work from various locations across Essex. Countywide travel is required, and you may need to work from ECC and health buildings as needed.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you should be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, holding at least 1 year's post-qualifying experience. You will bring evidence of continuing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
The ideal candidate will possess attention to detail and knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty procedures. You will be confident in person-centred and positive risk-taking approaches.
This role requires a driving licence and car or alternative mobility arrangements. You will also be required to register with the DBS update service if your role necessitates a DBS check.
What We Offer:
We provide comprehensive training and development opportunities through our award-winning Essex Social Care Academy. Our flexible working options enable you to balance your career and personal life. We prioritise employee wellbeing and offer support through counselling and other resources.
Other benefits include a lease car scheme, up to £8000 relocation payment*, life assurance, professional fees, local government pension scheme, volunteering leave, annual leave, employee assistance programme, and employee networks.
*Terms and conditions apply.
Earn an estimated £28,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience, plus additional benefits. Join us in making a difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.
