About the Role

The Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at Deanesfield Primary School is an exciting opportunity to support the personal, social, and academic development of young pupils. As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and promoting inclusion and independence of our students.

Key Details
  • Salary: £6.40 per hour (a competitive apprentice wage)
  • Working Week: Monday to Friday, 9am to 3:30pm, 30 hours a week (Term Time Only)
  • Holiday: 20 Days Holiday
  • Notice Period: 1 Month notice required
Apprenticeship Details

This 18-month apprenticeship is designed to help you gain the skills and knowledge needed to become a qualified Teaching Assistant. You will work towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification, with all learning delivered online and remotely.

Main Responsibilities
  • Attend to the pupil's personal needs and implement related personal programmes
  • Supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning
  • Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate
  • Be a good role model through effective communication and interactions with all pupils
  • Support pupils in respect of local and national learning strategies
  • Support pupils to understand instructions
  • Support pupils in using basic ICT as directed
  • Prepare and maintain equipment/resources as directed by the teacher and assist pupils in their use
Skills and Attributes/Personal Qualities
  • Maths and English GCSE/Equivalent Pass
