Job Title: Technical Director of Environmental Technical Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Director to lead our Environmental Technical Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical services to our clients, while also growing and developing our offering across the EMEA region.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Environmental Technical Services team, including service delivery, team management, and work allocation.
  • Mentor team members, provide feedback on performance, and conduct regular 1-2-1's.
  • Monthly financial reporting on Technical Services performance to Service Line Head.
  • Ensure compliance with Employers Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) insurance requirements.
  • Review and maintain adequate risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and any compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Liaise with in-house legal counsel to review appointments, contracts, and reliance letters.
  • Monitor and revise fee levels to ensure profitability of the Environmental Technical Services team.
  • Recruit new hires within the Environmental Technical Services team.
  • Service delivery, advising clients on environmental liabilities and risk, including land/groundwater contamination/ground gas issues.
  • Quoting Technical Environmental Services, including projects (ground investigations, remediation strategies, verification works).
  • Writing and reviewing Phase II Ground Investigation Reports, Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments (human health, controlled waters and ground gas) and waste assessments.
  • Writing and reviewing technical due diligence reports (Phase 1), when required.
  • Project manage wider planning deliverables, including ecology, flooding, air, noise, and transport.
  • Liaise with site occupants, contractors, and regulators.
  • Provide a first-class level of service and advice to maintain a network of clients and ensure repeat business.
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of relevant environmental regulations, legislation, and assessment criteria.
  • Work with and support all business functions/service lines on technical environmental issues and provide solutions.
Requirements:
  • Extensive technical experience within property over a range of land uses and delivering complex environmental projects.
  • Ability to work in a pressured, deadline-driven environment.
  • UK Driving licence.
  • Masters Degree in environmental sciences, geology, or similar (Preferred).
