Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Midwife to join our team at Homerton University Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting clinical trials and acting as a resource for Midwifery and Reproductive Health regarding current and future clinical trials.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be a member of the maternity research team under the Research and Innovations team at Homerton University Hospital. They will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in research.

The post holder will be responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and close down of clinical trials in accordance with local, national, and international legislation. They will lead studies to assess patients' suitability, ensuring informed consent is obtained; co-ordinate the logistics for patient visits and undertake patient assessments in accordance with study protocol.

  • NMC registration
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • GCP training
  • Proven teaching and assessing skill

Experience and Knowledge

  • Relevant experience at band 6 within a relevant specialty
  • Experience of supervision of junior staff or equivalent experience For specialist areas able to demonstrate specialist knowledge of patient group.
  • Knowledge of research and audit and understanding of Good clinical practice (GCP)
  • Ability to practice within the scope of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality issues
