About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Partnership Manager to join our team at SSE. As a key member of our Procurement and Commercial department, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining productive relationships with our IT key suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship Management: Implement, manage, and develop productive relationships between IT, Procurement and Commercial, and IT key suppliers. Support supplier segmentation in collaboration with IT to identify key suppliers.
  • Advisory: Provide commercial and contractual advice and insights to Procurement and Commercial leadership and directors of the SSE Group.
  • Governance: Manage a portfolio of suppliers either within a services or software/SaaS or telco/hardware category with a value of £50-100m per annum to support the delivery of Procurement and Commercial department KPIs and objectives in line with the Procurement Manual, Commercial Manual, and the IT Contract Management Governance Manual.
  • Management: Manage the performance and develop the capabilities of a contract manager(s). Also provide commercial/contractual advice and support to the wider Procurement and Commercial team.
Requirements
  • Comprehensive and proven in-depth knowledge and experience of the IT and/or telco market and supply chain, including experience in drafting, interpreting, and negotiating complex IT and telco contracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a highly experienced in building and maintaining relationships with IT and telco suppliers such as Microsoft, Oracle, GE, HCL, Infosys, CapGemini, and Vodafone.
  • Proven track record in communicating effectively with senior management and directors to build valued and 'trusted partner' relationships.
  • Experience in leading the most complex technology commercial negotiations and operating with the strategic/long-term in mind to ensure SSE is leveraging both financial and operational opportunities across the SSE Group.
  • Superb problem-solving skills in complex supplier and internal customer relationship environments.
