We are seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce SMR. As a Senior Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering an industry-leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of nuclear power station.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise across the lifecycle of hardwired protection and accident management systems for the SMR nuclear power plant 'reactor island'.
- Translate system requirements into design specifications for the hardwired protection and accident management systems.
- Assess and substantiate that the design specification meets the requirements.
- Evaluate functional performance capabilities of components and systems to facilitate effective system design.
- Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components and systems to facilitate effective system design.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree level qualification in one or more of the engineering disciplines of electrical, electronics, instrumentation, control systems, mechatronics, physics or computer science.
- Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of C&I systems including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of safety or process critical C&I systems.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant industry standards for systems important to safety (e.g. IEC 61508, IEC 61226, IEC 61513).
- Knowledge and experience of applying systems engineering methodologies including Model Based Systems Engineering to C&I systems.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary of between £48,000 - £62,500 (dependent on experience) plus:
- Bonus - Performance related bonus of up to 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
