About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and resourceful individual to join our team as a Community Capacity Builder. This exciting opportunity will enable you to make a positive impact on our communities in Torfaen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement community development strategies to enhance community resilience and capacity.
  • Work closely with local community groups, stakeholders, and members of the public to analyse community assets and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with community leaders, organizations, and other stakeholders to drive positive change.
  • Support the development of place-based networks to share intelligence, collaborate on initiatives, and maximize resources.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the Building Resilient Communities Shared Prosperity Funded programme's objectives.

Requirements:

  • Relevant further/higher educational qualification or 2 years' comparable work experience.
  • Proven experience in community development, with a strong understanding of community needs and aspirations.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office functions and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in delivering community projects, with a focus on community participation and engagement.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate information, make effective decisions, and prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends, with flexibility to travel around the borough.
