Job Title: Community Capacity Builder

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Capacity Builder to join our team at Torfaen County Borough Council. As a key member of our Building Resilient Communities Shared Prosperity Funded programme, you will play a vital role in delivering our Community Operating Model by working closely with local communities, community groups, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement community development projects that enhance community resilience and capacity.
  • Work closely with local communities, community groups, and stakeholders to identify and address community needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, local authorities, and other partners.
  • Develop and deliver training and capacity-building programmes for community groups and individuals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of community development projects and programmes.

Requirements:

  • Further/higher educational qualification relevant to the post or 2 years comparable demonstrable work experience.
  • Proven experience of working with communities in a community development role.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office functions.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience at successfully delivering community projects with residents and community groups including the reporting on achieving targets.
  • Experience of engaging and increasing community participation and the development and strengthening of community hubs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyse and evaluate information and to make effective decisions and priorities tasks calmly under pressure.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain records and record information. Analyse data and produce monitoring reports to present Senior Management.
  • Willingness to work evenings and on the weekends.
  • Ability to travel around the borough in a timely manner.
