A leading transport and logistics company seeks an experienced professional to join their team as a Transportation Coordinator.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating transportation operations, ensuring seamless delivery of goods throughout the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Answering inbound calls and dealing with customer requests.
  2. Planning vehicles around requests, challenges, and changes.
  3. Monitoring customer requests, allocating jobs, and issuing instructions.
  4. Keeping up to date with transport issues and dealing with changes to the day's schedules.
  5. Communicating fleet availability and issues to the team.
  6. Liaising with drivers and colleagues to ensure on-time deliveries.
  7. Pre-briefing and de-briefing drivers on their daily runs.
  8. Recording collection/delivery status and discrepancies in systems.
  9. Troubleshooting critical transport-related issues.

Requirements

  1. A dynamic approach to solving resource and planning resolution/modifications.
  2. Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office/Outlook/Teams.
  3. A basic understanding of Large Goods Vehicles (weights, dimensions, and terminology).
  4. A good geographic knowledge.
  5. A proactive approach to continual professional development.
  6. An excellent team player with the ability to work on own initiative and make decisions.
  7. A positive attitude towards customer service and continuous improvement.
  8. Ability to question, challenge, and improve upon existing processes.

Working Hours

5am until 2pm each day.
