About the Role:

Budget Energy is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join the finance team on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reconciliation and Controls:

  • Generate and reconcile customer accounts receivable reports from the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are properly posted.
  • Manage reconciliations between payment sources and the general ledger.
  • Identify discrepancies and delegate to relevant business owners for resolution.
  • Prepare AR balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Support budgeting and forecasting, with a particular focus on working capital and cash flow.
  • Analyze aged customer balances to inform calculation and posting of debt provision on a monthly basis.
  • Manage and report on finance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Finance Operations:

  • Support the Finance Accounting team during month-end and year-end reporting.
  • Lead weekly reviews of debtor book discrepancies, including billing, finance, and IT.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
  • Review customer refunds issued on a weekly basis, ensuring a robust audit trail.
  • Support the Accounts Payable function as required.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a newly or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with over a year of experience in a similar role. They possess strong proficiency in Excel and are well-versed in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite. This candidate thrives in a fast-paced PLC environment, demonstrating the ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Their excellent organizational skills are complemented by their strong communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
