About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Manager to join our team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that contracts are in place with pathology providers and external parties to support the provision of pathology services across all Trust and CCG sites.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead on contracting and performance management for pathology services
  • Manage contracts and negotiate with providers to ensure compliance with Trust and CCG requirements
  • Work effectively in a multi-professional environment and lead multi-disciplinary groups to achieve clinical and corporate governance objectives
  • Develop and implement research and development management strategies to improve pathology services
  • Provide management leadership to support the Pathology Business Unit's contribution to the Clinical Divisions, Trust agenda, and CCG Plan

Requirements

  • Significant management experience, including experience of leading on contracting and performance management
  • Experience of managing contracts and negotiating with providers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands
  • Ability to analyse complex facts and situations and develop a range of options
  • Strategic thinking and ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise
