We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Advisor to join our team at the British Business Bank. As a Business Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting small businesses across the UK, providing guidance and support to help them grow and succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and nurture a case load of Start Up Applicants, providing initial communication and ongoing engagement to support them through the application process.
- Conduct preliminary reviews of new applications to determine eligibility, readiness, and support requirements.
- Support Applicants in preparing their business documentation to give them the best chance of meeting the scheme's assessment criteria.
- Provide ongoing business support to Applicants on a 1:1 or group basis, using a range of formats to help them understand, create, and refine core business documents.
- Deliver ongoing mentoring support to Loan Recipients to help them make decisions about how to sustain and grow their business.
- Conduct loan assessments, including conducting due diligence on each Applicant, making recommendations as to whether and why the Applicant should receive a Start Up Loan.
- Work closely with the scheme's Lending Team to agree an outcome for all Applications, communicating outcomes to Applicants and submitting relevant documentation for approved applications.
- Experience of working in a targeted and fast-paced customer service environment using a range of communication tools.
- Natural people's person with prior experience of managing relationships.
- Knowledge of the business support landscape and a clear understanding of the challenges facing small business owners.
- Knowledge of current regulatory requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, communication skills both written and verbal, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality standards.
- Comfortable working with numbers and managing multiple systems, well-organised and target-driven, with a passion to succeed and exceed against targets and objectives.
