Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Advisor to join our team at the British Business Bank. As a Business Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting small businesses across the UK, providing guidance and resources to help them grow and thrive.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team that is dedicated to promoting economic growth and prosperity throughout the UK. As a Business Advisor, you will work closely with small business owners, providing expert advice and support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing one-to-one support and guidance to help them develop their business plans, cash flow forecasts, and personal survival budgets. You will also work closely with our lending team to assess loan applications and provide recommendations for approval.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Business Advisor who is passionate about supporting small businesses and has a strong understanding of the challenges they face. Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and support to small business owners to help them develop their business plans, cash flow forecasts, and personal survival budgets.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, providing one-to-one support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Work closely with our lending team to assess loan applications and provide recommendations for approval.
- Develop and maintain relationships with small business owners, stakeholders, and other partners to promote the services of the British Business Bank.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure that our services are aligned with the needs of small businesses.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by small businesses and a passion for supporting them.
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a track record of success in providing expert advice and support to small business owners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex business situations and provide effective solutions.
- A strong understanding of business planning, cash flow forecasting, and personal survival budgets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
