Overview

At OSI Systems, we are seeking a highly skilled Lab Scientist to join our Cargo Research Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and validating linear accelerators and associated sub-systems in our X-Ray Imaging Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and test linear accelerators, including their components and subsystems, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  2. Provide technical guidance and support to other team members and stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  3. Maintain accurate records of system and sub-system testing, results, and documentation, utilizing industry-standard tracking software.
  4. Support wider company efforts in production, engineering, and commissioning, including FATs and customer demonstrations, as required.

Requirements

  • PhD in Particle Accelerator Physics or RF Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience working with electron linear accelerators and test equipment, including vector network analysers and oscilloscopes, is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced product development environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of high-power RF systems, high voltage power supplies, and/or beam dynamics is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of safe systems of work with particle accelerators and their sub-systems is essential.
