The University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Scientist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and reporting transthoracic echocardiograms independently, as well as contributing to teaching and training in cardiac science.

The Heart Centre at UHNM provides tertiary cardiology and cardiothoracic surgical services for over 2 million people across Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire and South Cheshire. The successful applicant will join the established and prominent consultant, nursing and technical team, and will have every opportunity to participate in continuing the development and success of the service.

The ideal candidate will have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Cardiac Science, BSE Accreditation or recognised equivalent, and experience of teaching and training in cardiac science. Subspecialty Accreditation (DSE/GUCH/TOE), Leadership Qualification, and Clinical Assessment Training are also desirable.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms independently
  • Contribute to teaching and training in cardiac science
