Kitchen Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Cook to join our team at Stirling Council, responsible for food preparation and service in our kitchens.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in catering, with experience in preparing and cooking food to a high standard. They will also possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond promptly to queries and concerns.
This role involves working effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive kitchen environment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining kitchen hygiene and health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook food to a high standard, meeting the expectations of our residents and visitors.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff members.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding promptly to queries and concerns.
- Work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive kitchen environment.
- An estimated salary of £28,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
- Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid office/work from home options, to support work-life balance.
- Biennial incremental progression until top of pay scale reached, recognizing hard work and dedication.
- Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, providing a secure financial future.
- Up to 6 months full sick pay and 6 months half pay dependent on length of service, ensuring continued income during periods of absence.

Experience in catering is essential, and the ability to work well under pressure is crucial. The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children.
