Support Family Specialist

**Role Overview:**
The Family Support Specialist role at Gads Hill Center involves providing comprehensive support to families, developing relationships with parents and/or guardians, and connecting them to resources to meet their needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct enrollment processes, including accurate data entry into COPA and family assessment.
- Refer families to relevant resources based on their needs and document progress.
- Establish a medical home for children and maintain health records in collaboration with the Partner Network Manager.
- Maintain updated data in COPA regarding family partnerships, assessments, case notes, and referrals.
- Regularly monitor data and follow-up with families on missing documentation.
- Assist with the Head Start, Early Head Start, and Early Head Start CCP self-assessment.
- Visit sites weekly to build rapport with staff and parents.
- Identify potential partner community agencies offering family resources.
- Develop and maintain a community resource directory to assist parents.
- Attend parent meetings to foster good relationships and ensure parental involvement.
- Collaborate with education and mental health staff to initiate referrals.
- Submit necessary documentation to obtain evaluation services.
- Ensure meetings and evaluations occur, and children receive services as needed.
- Perform record-keeping and reporting tasks and submit monthly reports.
- Monitor attendance and work with staff to follow-up with parents.
- Maintain full enrollment at each site.
- Attend trainings and participate in agency outreach events.
- Participate in supervision meetings and workshops.
- Civic engagement and advancing parent leadership development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field.
- Minimum two years of experience working with children and families.
- Experience with multicultural programming preferred.
- Gateways Family Specialist Credential Level 3 required.
- Valid Driver's License and use of a dependable insured car required.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Able to pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check.
