English Language Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teacher of English to join our team in Norwich. As a key member of our Education Directorate, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language and literature lessons to students in our alternative education provision.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching and planning English lessons, with a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and its application. You will be able to create an inspirational learning environment, with high expectations of learner achievement, success, and progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, produce, and update schemes of work to meet curriculum, inspection, and accreditation requirements.
- Develop and deliver engaging English language and literature lessons to students with complex needs and challenging behavior.
- Support and guide learners to reflect on their learning, identify progress made, and set targets for improvement.
- Build effective relationships with students, families, and carers, and liaise with outside agencies as necessary.
- Undertake relevant administrative tasks, including examination entries, register taking, and invigilation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A recognised higher qualification in English language and literature, with significant experience of teaching and planning.
- Experience of working with students with complex needs and challenging behavior.
- Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with students, families, and carers.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and its application.
