Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a LPN, you will provide evidence-based nursing care to patients, administer medications, and provide first aid and basic life support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients, including administering medications and providing first aid and basic life support as needed
  • Screen for sick call and refer necessary cases to other medical professionals
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care
  • Interact with other departments as needed to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in education and certification programs to maintain continued competence

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid unrestricted Virginia LPN license or multi-state compact license
  • Ability to screen complaints of physical ailments and refer necessary cases to other medical professionals
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers with current certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a corrections or law enforcement environment
  • Experience or related training in delivery of general nursing and emergency medical care
