Conservation Director

A highly skilled and experienced Preventive Conservator is required to lead the team responsible for ensuring the long-term preservation of the British Museum's collection. About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing operational plans that support the preservation, conservation, and research strategies of the museum. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, leading a team of Preventive Conservators, and collaborating with senior members of the Conservation department to ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a recognized degree in preventive conservation or a related field, as well as extensive experience in the contemporary principles and practice of preventive conservation. You should also have knowledge and understanding of risk management principles and a proven track record of working in a museum or heritage sector environment.
