Endoscopy Lead Practitioner Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Endoscopy Lead Practitioner to join our team at One Ashford Hospital. As a key member of our Endoscopy & Theatres Team, you will be responsible for the management and activity of the Endoscopy service, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care that prioritizes patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the Endoscopy service, ensuring compliance with departmental policies, practice standards, regulation, and governance.
  • Lead a team of endoscopy staff, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care, safety, and satisfaction, while maintaining a business focus.
  • Collaborate with the Theatre Manager and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of endoscopy services with other hospital departments.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance and audit processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • NMC Registration and evidence of continued professional development.
  • Teaching, assessing, and mentorship qualifications.
  • Diploma or degree in management.
  • Proven experience in endoscopy, with a strong knowledge of HTM: 01-06 and the Global Ratings Scale (GRS) and Joint Accreditation Group (JAG) standards.
  • Effective leadership and management skills, with the ability to balance quality care with financial constraints.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience in the Independent Sector.
  • Operators/Managers City & Guilds course in Decontamination HTM 01:06.
