Job Description

Job Title: Associate Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Nurse to join our Women's Health reproductive medicine unit at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a significant interest in reproductive medicine and be able to work collaboratively with our team to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective patient-focused care, prioritizing the needs of patients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with the CNS and medical teams to develop and implement nursing care plans.
  • Contribute to the development of the nursing team, providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect and dignity.

Requirements:

  • Registered nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register.
  • Proven experience in working within reproductive medicine.
  • Proven evidence of management/leadership skills and autonomous practice.
  • Previous experience of student supervision and clinical education at undergraduate level.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to use skills of history taking and physical assessment to direct patient care.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to conduct and evaluate own projects successfully.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Practical experience in teaching patients and staff.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Experience of applying research evidence to clinical practice.
  • Skills in critical analysis and application of research to practice.
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns.
  • Knowledge of key professional issues and NMC guidelines relating to professional practice.
  • Ability to manage and evaluate change.
