Position: Lead Child Care Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Child Care Practitioner to join our esteemed residential team. This role is pivotal in providing support to children with social, emotional, and mental health needs within a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor designated staff members, ensuring high standards of care and support.
  • Assist children in transitioning from school to home, providing healthy snacks and engaging in meaningful conversations about their day.
  • Encourage participation in physical activities, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
  • Facilitate enjoyable evening activities, including games, outings, and educational support.
  • Oversee bedtime routines, ensuring a calm and supportive atmosphere.
  • Contribute to the development of placement plans, risk assessments, and activity schedules.
  • Support the school during on-call duties and participate in training and events.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with adolescents, preferably with those facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Child/Young Persons Care is required.
  • Experience in supervisory roles or shift leadership.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and child protection procedures.
  • Proficient in First Aid and capable of administering medication.
  • Driving qualifications are desirable.
