We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Support Practitioner to join our esteemed residential team within a successful academy known for its commendable standards.
Salary:
£28,115-£34,757 PA based on qualifications and experience (plus occasional overnight duties).
Role Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Lead Support Practitioner is to assist individuals from the time they leave their daytime activities until the following morning. This role includes formal oversight of designated team members.
Upon arrival, staff will support individuals by preparing nutritious snacks, discussing daily activities, and encouraging personal hygiene routines. Staff will promote participation in at least one physical activity, engaging with individuals in a supportive manner.
Evening routines will include shared meals, followed by various recreational activities such as outdoor play, board games, or outings to local attractions. Later, staff will assist with educational tasks, enjoy leisure time, and help individuals settle down for the night with a story or conversation before completing evening documentation.
In the morning, staff will facilitate wake-up routines and ensure individuals are prepared for their day ahead. Attendance at residential outings and driving duties may be required.
Key Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- NVQ Level 3 in Child/Young Persons Care.
- Experience in supervisory or leadership roles.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards for residential care.
- Desirable: Driving qualification (mini bus).
- Proficiency in ICT to support learning initiatives.
- Competence in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A valid driving license with the flexibility to use personal vehicles for transportation when necessary.
- Strong communication skills to convey information clearly.
- Ability to engage with children and their families effectively.
- Experience in implementing behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
- Understanding of child development and the ability to assess and support individual progress.
- Familiarity with child protection protocols and data confidentiality regulations.
