About the Role

The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Perioperative Medicine Specialist to join our team. As a Consultant in Perioperative Care, you will play a key role in optimizing perioperative care for acute surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Intensive Care and Perioperative Consultant to develop and implement strategies for improving perioperative care.
  • Collaborate with the Acute Medical and Anaesthetic Consultant to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and lead the Perioperative Service, working in partnership with the Geriatric Medicine department to provide comprehensive care for elderly patients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of national guidance and evidence-based models for perioperative care.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
