About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Perioperative Medicine to join our team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our perioperative service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our Intensive Care and Perioperative Consultant to optimize perioperative care for acute surgical patients.
  • Collaborate with our Acute Medical and Anaesthetic Consultant to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based models for perioperative care, in line with national guidance and best practices.
  • Lead the development of our perioperative service, working closely with our Geriatric Medicine department and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to the development of our orthogeriatric service, building on its success and expanding our perioperative care capabilities.
Requirements
  • Leadership experience in a perioperative or geriatric medicine setting.
  • Strong clinical skills and expertise in perioperative care, geriatric medicine, and acute surgery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and lead service development initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
