The Climate and Inclusive Growth (CIG) Directorate at Lambeth Council is committed to driving positive change for our community and businesses. CIG consists of three divisions — Economy, Culture, and Skills (ECS); Climate, Planning, and Transport (PTS); and Regeneration, Growth, and Housing (RHG) — representing a comprehensive approach to sustainable development.

The Role

This role is part of a diverse team engaged in a wide array of tasks. Responsibilities include project execution, program oversight, and essential administrative support.

In this position, you will:

possess a solid understanding of financial matters, particularly concerning built environment functions such as Planning and Building Control. demonstrate the capability to collaborate effectively within a team (and independently) on key initiatives related to the Operations & Innovation team and the broader Directorate. perform crucial financial administration tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Planning, Transport, and Sustainability division, including: Raising invoices, Reconciling receipts, Following up on outstanding payments, Creating Purchase Order requests, and Setting up suppliers. assist in managing Planning Performance Agreements, including analyzing resources and expenditures. support the recruitment efforts of the Planning and Building Control services, including posting requests on internal systems. conduct research to aid in briefings and assist in benchmarking activities.

Requirements

Strong mathematical and written communication skills. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. General knowledge of Planning or other built environment services. Experience in administrative or bookkeeping tasks is advantageous (training will be provided). Ability to apply various methodologies for data analysis.
