Role Overview

Lead and promote a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, guiding both HZI and contractor teams to adhere to project HSEQ protocols. Ensure the integration of all pertinent HSEQ requirements within your area of responsibility, collaborating with site management and the HSE team to eliminate or mitigate hazards. Review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) to ensure compliance with HSE standards, overseeing that work is executed according to these guidelines. Accountable for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under your supervision, with the authority to halt work if safety is at risk. Collaborate with the customer and service/project manager to develop work schedules and plans, implementing service delivery and conducting necessary testing as per established procedures. Employ standardized methods to identify and resolve complex issues. Actively support the service team in achieving project objectives. Ensure that all tasks within your area of responsibility are executed in alignment with contractual obligations, meeting project timelines and budget constraints. Facilitate guidance and cooperation among consortium partners and subcontractors, sharing experiences with colleagues across various service teams and specialist departments. Review and approve essential documentation, including WPQRs, WPS, welder's certifications, and welding history maintenance. Conduct spot checks on welding parameters, ensuring compliance with established standards. Oversee Post Weld Heat Treatment activities, ensuring accurate data recording and sign-off. Organize and supervise welding skills assessments as per HZI protocols. Manage change requests related to technical aspects, timelines, and costs. Collaborate with the service/project manager to address deviations and claims. Provide insights and feedback for current and future projects through Lessons Learned documentation. Monitor and ensure the resolution of contractor punch items. Keep the Service/Project Manager updated on all site-related activities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

City & Guilds Level 3 in Engineering. CSWIP Welding Inspector certification. Proven experience as a supervisor in delivering Boiler Pressure Parts services within large industrial settings. Skilled in coordinating contracts and contractors on-site. Experienced in inspecting and approving Boiler pressure part welding in accordance with company quality systems and procedures. Familiarity with common NDT, quality procedures, and standards. Competence in evaluating RT films and other NDT results (Level II). Demonstrated leadership in HSEQ with knowledge of relevant legal and management system requirements. Understanding of applicable international and national technical standards. Valid Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or equivalent safety certification. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Specific Knowledge Requirements:

Pressure Parts: Knowledge of Simple Pressure Vessel Directive 2009/105/EC, 2014/29/EC; and Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC, 2014/68/EC. Machinery: Familiarity with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC; ATEX 95 Equipment Directive 94/9EC, 2014/34/EC; and ATEX 137 Workplace Directive 1999/92/EC (as applicable).
