Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacist to join our dynamic team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a Band 7 Pharmacist, you will play a key role in developing and supporting the services provided by the Dispensary and Operational team. You will work closely with the Clinical Lead Operational Pharmacist to ensure the effective functioning of the Dispensary, Procurement, and Distribution.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Pharmacist with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can motivate themselves and others. You will be responsible for mentoring and supervising Junior Pharmacists, as well as participating in on-call, weekend, and Bank Holiday duties.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Act as a role model to all technical and support staff working in the Dispensary Team, providing guidance and support to Junior Pharmacists.
  • Screen TTOs and Outpatient prescriptions as required, ensuring compliance with best practice and medicines legislation.
  • Develop the role of the rotational Pharmacists in the dispensary, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure the safe and secure management of controlled drugs in the Dispensary.
  • Participate in on-call, weekend, and Bank Holiday duties as per the rota.

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacist
