Category Merchandising Role Overview

As a key member of the Commercial function at Currys, you will be working with one of our most exciting categories and top technology brands. Our Merchandising teams play a crucial role in helping our categories hit targets by building relationships with suppliers and monitoring performance.

As an Assistant Category Merchandiser, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintaining close relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and our supply chain to ensure continuity of supply
  • Driving sales growth and achieving key performance indicators (sales, stock, margin, and markdown)
  • Reviewing sales forecasts based on historical data, seasonal trends, and market trends
  • Monitoring weekly performance and making recommendations to ensure in-season plans are implemented and target availability is achieved across the store estate

You will need:

  • Previous experience in Merchandising, ideally in consumer goods, technology, non-fashion, or a fashion-related sector
  • A relevant degree (or equivalent), e.g., Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, or Business
  • Knowledge of merchandise planning systems such as SAP, Compass Planning, or similar
  • Experience of business objects
  • Strong numerical, analytical skills, and communication skills
