Ofqual serves as the independent qualifications regulator for England, overseeing over 200 awarding organizations and approximately 11,600 certified qualifications, including GCSEs, AS and A levels, along with a variety of vocational and technical qualifications. Role Responsibilities

Team Overview

We are seeking a skilled and driven communicator to join our Communications team at Ofqual. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive communications team of 15, including two direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

The Media Manager will lead the strategic execution of our media relations initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of managing media relations and personnel in high-profile organizations.

With a talent for distilling complex information into clear and concise messaging, you will have a strong news sense and the ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of competing demands and stakeholders. Experience in delivering multi-channel communications aimed at informing and engaging audiences, particularly in the education sector, is preferred.

Applicants should be educated to degree level or possess significant industry experience. This role requires an exceptional communicator who is proactive, resilient, and able to maintain composure under pressure.
