Sister/Charge Nurse - Coronary Care Unit

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team in the Coronary Care Unit at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. As a key member of the nursing team, you will be responsible for leading and assessing the work of the nursing staff, building upon your own clinical and managerial experience.

You will be an experienced RGN in Cardiology, with a strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care and a passion for teaching, training, and supervision. You will actively participate in the development of the team, ensuring that staff have a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the Band 7 with the continuous improvement of the department, effectively monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of care that are reflected by patient experience.

Main Duties
  • Support the Band 7 in the continuous improvement of the department, ensuring excellent standards of care.
  • Supervise and motivate staff to ensure effective teamwork and efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure staff have a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Liaise with the ward manager to coordinate admissions and ensure smooth patient flow.

Person Specification
  • RGN, Paediatric specialties RSCN, Operating Theatres RGN or Registered ODP.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional development/qualification relevant to area of speciality.
  • Involvement in Nursing audit and Research.
  • An awareness and understanding of policy and practice relevant to speciality.
