Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wardrobe Assistant to join our team at the National Theatre. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing costumes, ensuring that they are in excellent condition for performances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair costumes, including cleaning, altering, and replacing damaged items
- Assist in the organization and management of costume inventory, including tracking and reporting on costume condition and availability
- Collaborate with designers, directors, and other production staff to ensure that costumes meet production requirements
- Develop and implement effective maintenance and repair procedures to extend the life of costumes
- Work closely with the production team to ensure that costumes are ready for performances
Requirements:
- Previous experience in costume maintenance and repair, preferably in a theatrical or performance environment
- Strong knowledge of costume construction, materials, and techniques
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a high level of attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
