About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at The Principal York. As a key member of our brigade, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Executive Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including rota planning, stock control, and staff delegation.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas, ensuring high-quality dishes that meet our guests' expectations.
  • Lead by example, inspiring creativity and motivating the team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Ensure the highest standards of health and safety, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations and management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the team.
  • Passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail.
