We are now recruiting for a Technical Operations Specialist within our Toxicology Technical Operations team, our legal manufacturer of SoToxa (mobile drug analyzer).

What You'll Do

As a Technical Operations Specialist, you will be part of a small team that acts as the Subject Matter Expert for our mobile drug analyzer - SoToxa. You will perform incoming inspections, testing with calibrated instruments, repair and replace circuit boards or mechanical hardware as required. You will also install software updates and liaise with our Global Service Hubs for training purposes, maintenance queries, technical issues, and software updates both physically and remotely.

A key part of the role is liaison with the Product Support team, enabling them to keep the customer informed as to the progress of servicing and repairs undertaken. Working at Abbott, you can help shape the future of healthcare while shaping your career.

Required Qualifications

To be successful, you would need to be passionate about computers, electronics, and mechanical engineering, with strong motivation to support people from a technical operations perspective.

This role requires excellent communication skills and a mechanical, engineering, or computer repair background would be desirable. Full training will be provided, and with the correct underpinning of electronics or engineering experience, would give the ideal foundation for this role, to enable the successful candidate to absorb the training.

Continuous Improvement is an important part of our culture, so you will also have the opportunity to propose and contribute to initiatives and projects that improve our processes.

You will also be required to demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues from other departments (especially virtually) and to provide a high standard of technical support. Previous experience working with computer repairs/exposure to electronics, mechanical repairs, and an engineering background would be preferable.
