Cyber Security Manager for Logistics Sector

Net Talent Limited is excited to collaborate with a prominent logistics organization as they seek to appoint their inaugural IT Security Manager.
This pivotal role will encompass overseeing the Group's IT Security framework as the IT Security Manager. The successful applicant will spearhead a dedicated cyber security team, managing the execution of security strategies and certifications (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials +, NIST). The role requires close collaboration with various departments to pinpoint potential security vulnerabilities, devise mitigation strategies, and address security incidents effectively.
A technical background is advantageous, along with a solid grasp of networks and infrastructure, although it is not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Direct and oversee the cyber security team, including recruitment, mentoring, and performance assessments.
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive cyber security strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals.
- Remain informed about emerging cyber security threats, industry developments, and regulatory mandates to adapt strategies and policies as necessary.
Risk Management:
- Perform regular security risk evaluations to identify potential weaknesses within the organization's IT infrastructure.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring prompt resolution of all identified risks.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to incorporate security best practices into all operational processes.
Incident Response & Recovery:
- Supervise the creation and execution of incident response plans and protocols.
- Lead the response to cyber security incidents, coordinating efforts across teams to minimize damage and ensure rapid recovery.
- Conduct post-incident evaluations to extract lessons learned and implement enhancements.
Security Operations:
- Ensure continuous monitoring of networks, systems, and applications for security anomalies.
- Oversee the management and upkeep of security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.
- Ensure timely application of security patches and updates across all systems.
Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure the organization's security practices adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001, NIST).
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards throughout the organization.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management regarding the organization's security posture.
Training & Awareness:
- Create and implement cyber security training programs for employees to foster security awareness and best practices.
- Organize regular security drills and simulations to ensure readiness for potential cyber threats.
What we are looking for:
- Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of cyber security frameworks, risk management, incident response, and security operations. Proficiency with security tools and technologies.
- Previous experience in delivering ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials + standards.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing cyber security processes and policies.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and tracking security risks and threats.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure and networking is desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to implement practical solutions.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Compensation: A competitive salary of up to £70k is available, commensurate with experience.
