Position Overview

The HVAC Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering a comprehensive design engineering service. This position is accountable for generating discipline-specific engineering outputs that support project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The role is primarily focused on hands-on design work while also providing team leadership. The Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Developing designs that meet technical specifications.
  • Producing design deliverables throughout the engineering process.
  • Conducting checks on fundamental design calculations.
  • Participating in design and safety reviews.
  • Preparing technical specifications and documentation for installation, commissioning, and operations.
  • Ensuring the quality and timely delivery of design documentation across all project phases.
  • Adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Creating cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Conducting site surveys and generating assessment reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Associate membership in a relevant engineering institution.

Essential Competencies

  • Strong foundational knowledge in your engineering discipline.
  • Experience in design roles within regulated industries.
  • Proven success in delivering effective design solutions.
  • Solid understanding of safety legislation and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within project environments.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good commercial insight.
  • Familiarity with containment ventilation systems.
  • Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with IESVE design software.

Desirable Attributes

  • Degree in a relevant technical or engineering field.
  • Experience in the nuclear sector.
  • Leadership experience in managing design teams.
  • Experience overseeing subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of nuclear operations.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.
