Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Cost Estimator, you will engage in various commercial responsibilities aimed at managing and minimizing project costs and risks, enhancing value for money, and ensuring compliance with legal standards and quality as per the agreed contract terms.
Your daily tasks will include:
- Structuring projects into manageable work packages for procurement.
- Evaluating bids from subcontractors and allocating work packages accordingly.
- Negotiating with the subcontractor supply chain to secure optimal value.
- Overseeing payment applications from subcontractors.
- Preparing payment applications for clients.
- Tracking and analyzing actual spending against budgeted costs through Cost Value Reconciliation Reports (CVR).
- Final account preparation.
- Managing team workloads effectively.
- Compiling and verifying commercial data from the team.
Candidate Profile:
This Senior Cost Estimator position is ideal for individuals who can demonstrate:
- A relevant academic qualification – Degree / HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience in teams delivering high-value commercial construction projects.
- Experience with Tier 1 Main Contracting.
- A strong understanding of NEC / JCT Contract Conditions.
