About the Opportunity:
FedTec is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team in Richmond, VA. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality technical documentation for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Information Technology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive technical documentation for VDOT IT systems, including user guides, how-to guides, and product specifications.
- Collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure that technical documentation is accurate and easy to understand.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for improvement in technical documentation.
- Meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality documentation on time.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on systems documentation.
- Proven track record of creating high-quality technical documentation that meets client needs.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex technical concepts.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
