Job Overview

Position: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a driven and skilled Quantity Surveyor to become a vital part of our accomplished team at Winvic Construction Ltd, a leading multi-disciplinary contractor known for delivering exceptional construction projects across the nation.

In this role, you will report directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to lead and collaborate effectively within a team, ensuring the successful execution of our industrial projects, which range in value from £5 million to over £100 million.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Participate in post-tender and pre-contract discussions.
  • Review contract documents to safeguard the company's interests.
  • Prepare and issue subcontract tender packages, conducting thorough evaluations of submissions.
  • Oversee our established network of supply chain subcontractors.
  • Evaluate contract risks and collaborate with the site team to devise and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Attend both internal and external commercial review meetings.
  • Manage client valuations and oversee the variation account.
  • Handle the commercial aspects of contracts.
  • Administer subcontract accounts from procurement through to final account settlement.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of claims for variation works.
  • Monitor commercial performance against business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with group commercial policies and relevant legislation.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing individual or multiple projects.
  • Experience in industrial, high-rise multi-room, or retail scheme projects valued above £10 million.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of construction principles, teamwork, discipline, and enthusiasm.
