Job Description

Cloud Engineer - Site Reliability


Sterlings is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer - Site Reliability to join our team. As a Cloud Engineer - Site Reliability, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and stability of our infrastructure through the delivery of tools and processes that improve operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and automate infrastructure services to improve operational efficiency
  • Deliver continuous service improvement by developing Infrastructure as Code
  • Improve system performance, make effective use of resources, distribute load and reduce latency
  • Identify Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to meet availability and latency objectives
  • Develop monitoring solutions that alert proactively and reactively
  • Perform root cause analysis on incidents to prevent them in the future
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve services via rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Analyse workloads and devise suitable cloud migration strategies where appropriate


Requirements:

  • Extensive Docker/Kubernetes skills for deployment, configuration, and scaling of applications
  • Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Influxdb, and Grafana
  • Experience in CI/CD/CT platforms like Git, Ansible, Terraform, and TeamCity
  • Serena Deployment Automation (SDA) and Jenkins
  • Infrastructure as Code experience
  • Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Development (CD) practices
  • Agile, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and DevOps practices
  • Scripting and programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, and C#


This is a hybrid contract position, with 3 days in the office per week.
