Fleet Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Manager to join our team at CD Auto Engineering Recruitment Ltd. As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the team responsible for truck and trailer breakdowns, as well as being a key point of contact for daily fleet issues and problem-solving mechanical issues with the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the team responsible for truck and trailer breakdowns
  • Be a key point of contact for daily fleet issues and problem-solving mechanical issues with the team
  • Work closely with service agents and set up new suppliers to look after the fleet
  • Oversee our own fleet of mobile vans and 6x tractor units for compliance, ensuring all compliance anniversaries are met
  • Vet supplier invoices to ensure we are being charged correctly
  • Ensure the team is up to date with any overdue services and compliance
  • Occasional supplier audit and spot checks on work carried out by our own team and third-party garages
Requirements:

You will either have experience in a senior/supervisor position working in the HGV commercial sector and/or the qualifications to do so, such as NVQ level 3 or equivalent, and IRTEC qualified. Ideally, you will have a Class 1, Class 2, 7.5 Tonne driving license, as well as experience working on a variety of commercial vehicles.
