Community Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team at Emmaus Hertfordshire. As a key member of our support team, you will work closely with our companions to support them on their journey to independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement holistic support interventions to empower companions to reach their goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with companions, understanding their unique needs and challenges.
  • Collaborate with the support team to ensure seamless delivery of support services.
  • Contribute to the social enterprise, supporting companions in their daily activities and helping to maintain a positive and inclusive community environment.
  • Identify and address risks or safeguarding concerns, ensuring the well-being and safety of all companions.

Requirements:

  • Practical experience supporting vulnerable adults, or transferable skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to maintain up-to-date records in our database and proficiency with IT.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building trust and rapport with companions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Emmaus Hertfordshire, with a focus on supporting companions to achieve their full potential.
