About the Role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a responsive, customized, and quality service to young people placed in their individual flat or shared house.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in line with person-centered risk assessments, support plans, and liaise with support workers to provide a full handover
  • Observe any change in behavior, ensuring appropriate actions are documented and report changes in support needs of any young person
  • Maintain positive working relationships with young people, staff, and professionals by communicating effectively at all times
  • Ensure continuous support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff, with particular focus on the safety of vulnerable people
  • Carry out necessary health and safety actions, including cleaning tasks, in line with set policies and procedures
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as police and Emergency Duty Team (EDT)
  • Support young people who need to attend the hospital or police station
Requirements
  • Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable
  • Flexibility in availability, as the role will include weekend work
  • Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to study towards this
  • Be willing to travel, with a full driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Excellent computer skills
