A company based in the UK is looking for a skilled Principal PICs Engineer to join their team. This role involves working on the development of Photonic Integrated Circuits for quantum applications. As the Principal PICs Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the photonics team in designing and characterizing PICs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of Photonic Integrated Circuits for quantum applications
  • Oversee the characterization and testing of PICs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PICs into larger systems
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in photonic systems and devices
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in PIC technology
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics, Electronic Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in designing and characterizing PICs for quantum applications
  • Background in research on photonic systems or devices
  • Simulation skills using tools like Lumerical or IPKISS
  • Understanding of experimental approaches for quantum communications
