About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Gateline Assistant to join our team at Great Western Railway. As a key member of our station team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service at ticket barriers, operating and managing automatic ticket gates, and checking and issuing tickets to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service at ticket barriers, ensuring a positive experience for every passenger.
  • Operate and manage automatic ticket gates, ensuring smooth fare collection and minimizing delays.
  • Check and issue tickets to customers, helping those without valid fares to resolve their travel issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized gateline area, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Sell tickets using a mobile machine when needed, providing an efficient and convenient service to customers.
Working Pattern

We require our Gateline Assistants to be flexible and work a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. This will enable us to provide a high level of service to our customers and ensure that our stations are always well-staffed.
