About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Gateline Assistant to join our team at Great Western Railway. As a key member of our station team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service at ticket barriers, operating and managing automatic ticket gates, and ensuring smooth fare collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service at ticket barriers, responding to customer queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operate and manage automatic ticket gates, ensuring they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Check and issue tickets, helping customers without valid fares and providing information on ticket options and promotions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized gateline area, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Sell tickets using a mobile machine when needed, providing accurate and efficient service to customers.
Working Pattern

We require our Gateline Assistants to be flexible and work a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. This will ensure that we can provide excellent customer service to our passengers at all times.
